about Adair's book: for Jack

Posted by: marlin () on Sat Nov 13 17:30:27 2004

Hi, Jack
I have a question.

You wrote a interesting report about Adair's book(first and second edition) in a previos post(to JJA).

>He(Adair) states in his book that the body moves forward about 18 inches at 7 mph during the swing. (not before rotation, but during the swing).

I have third edition. '18 inches' was cut and '7 mph' was changed to '6 mph' in it.

I'd like to ask you about your phrase '(not before rotation, but during the swing)'.
Isn't it your misunderstanding of his theory?

He divides the swing into two parts and the rotation occurs in the second part. The first part begins with pushing the ground backward with the back foot and the step of the front foot to the ground occurs in the first part of the swing.

Thank you
