Re: Front Leg

What is it with the front leg will stay flexed and then go straight idea. Im sure all of you have watched the best hitter in the game hit, that would be A-Rod, and he does not do this yet he hits for average and is one of the best power hitters in the game. It seems people who teach hitting continue to ignore this. His front leg stays flexed throughout his swing and he continues to amaze me every time he hits. I have also noticed many top high school draft picks in the next yr are beggining to do this. Delmon Young is one of them and he is ranked as one of the top 10 purest hitters in the country. I was also priveleged to play against the player ranked as the #10 purest hitter in the nation a few hours ago, it seems they both have almost identicle hitting mechanics, which are very similar to A-Rods. What is your opinion in the rise of this hitting style? I also have begun to hit this way and have reduced slow rollers and weak ground balls greatly with an increase in line drives and long balls.

It's called linear. Some can hit that way. Most cannot.
