I would have to disagree that after a few swings that they will hit the &^*%*( out of the ball. After years of watching baseball players come over to the game of fastpitch it can be noted that with the exception of a handfull of players most players struggle with the timing and ball movement for at least one season and sometimes longer. I would invite anyone (baseball player) that doubts this to come to an "A" calibre tourament and give it a try hitting against this pitching. Most baseball players are amazed of how quickly the ball is on them since no one ever faces a 108+ MPH pitch. Not that any fastpitch player ever throws this hard but when you factor in distance to the plate, reaction time and speed of pitch this is the speed of the ball. Now think, of the difference in hitting a 85 MPH fastball to a 95MPH fastball. Now add 10 MPH ontop of this and this is what you would face. Please do not disreguard this when you make a blanket statement about hitting comparisons between the two sports.
