I guess you are comparing 'A' to Major. I supose that my classification was misleading. I was talking about 'Major' fastpitch. Most 'A' level pitchers throw about 65-75MPH. I played 9 years Canadian Men's National Team, 20 years at MAjor 'A' level and you can not tell me that there is no difference between hitting a 95MPH pitch and hitting a 109 MPH pitch. If that is the case then you should have been a major league star. I am sure that any coach in the majors would welcome a pitcher who could throw 100+ MPH or why do you think they work so hard to find that extra 1-2mph in a fastball.
Excessive speed is difficult to hit at any level. It has nothing to do with the ball being thrown overhand or underhand or the direction of your swing or whatever Frank was referring to. My point is the swing mechanics are the same for both games.
How can you have played that much softball and not know the difference between A, AA, Major?
