Re: SLIGHT UPSWING ?

I was wondering if you guys advocate a slight upswing as Mike Epstein does and if so why and if not what do you guys recommend and why, Thanks

Bob,

Where did you get this information by Epstein? I would like to know what mechanics he teaches for swinging up.

Its my beleife that to swing up on the ball the batter must do one of the following:

1. Start out with his hands below the height of the ball and swing up on it.

2. Start out with his hands above the height of the ball (which almost all batters do) and swoop down and up on the ball.

3. Hit the ball at the end of the swing, after the wrists have rolled over.

Remember most batters start the forward movement to the ball
with their hands ABOVE what is a high strike.

What does Epstein say?

Joe A.
