Once a moving object comes to a stop its momentum (or weight shift) has been expended. The same is true for a batter --- The energy developed during weight shift is expended before the swing starts.

I disagree with this last statement. The human body has the ability to "store" linear momentum as elastic energy (this is a fact.) And what about momentum conversion? For instance, is there any question that forward momentum contributes to a pitcher's velocity? I'm interested in your thoughts. I already know what Dick Mills thinks, but I believe he can be easily proven wrong.
