BTW, I'm sure you've heard of Dave Kingman. He waved a quite a few as he was going from 0-80.<<<

Hi Teacherman

We can just talk in circles or you can describe the mechanical difference and show us some clips to backup what you say.

I have studied many clips (100, 60 and 30 fps) of hitters with power and those who were mainly single hitters. I did not find power hitters slower to the ball. In fact, I found just the opposite. Hitters like Bonds and Sosa were about a ½ frame faster to contact than Boggs and Rose type hitters.

There are over 50 clips at http://www.youthbaseballcoaching.com/swings.html , many of them are power hitters. If this slowness to the ball occurs as frequently as you indicate, I am sure you will have no problem naming those clips and explaining why their mechanics produce bat speed but is slower to the ball.
