WHAT'S WRONG W/JUNIOR?

Posted by: george stanley (saint_george13@yahoo.com) on Tue Aug 12 15:55:07 2008

hello one & all!
i watched JUNIOR GRIFFEY lasst friday night.. he seemed to be the same as the last time i saw him, severall years ago..doing pretty much the same thing he has always done!!..same stance, same swing.. only now he's not getting there anymore!!! WHY? WHAT IS DIFFERENT NOW?
ANSWER: he is pretty much the same player.. only age has uncovered the one incontrovertible truth:
AS YOU AGE, YOUR ATHLETIC ABILITY DIMINISHES TO THE POINT IT CAN NO LONGER COMPENSATE ENOUGH FOR THE HOLES IN YOUR STANCE & SWING..IT CAN
NO LONGER RESCUE YOU.. NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT IN BOTH THE STANCE & SWING TO ELIMINATE THOSE ACTIONS WHICH SLOW YOUR BAT
TO THE POINT YOU ARE BARELY COMPETITIVE.
anyone have any thoughts on this?

here is an email i sent last friday to HAWK HARRELSON about JUMIOR:
watched ken griffey last night.. this poor guy is in the "OVERMATCHED " category, being both hopeless & helpless..
the pitcher had a blueprint on how to go at JUNIOR.. nothing but fastballs up in the zone.. a pitcher would have to be a fool to throw anything offspeed or down in the zone to him.. he exhibited his batspeed has slowed to the point that he can not POSSIBLY GET AROUND ON ANYTHING ABOVE THE CROTCH.. fouling off numerous pitches, as well as hacking at slop pitches with 2 strikes that were shoelace high. fouling off ball 3 & ball 4.. not good.
THIS GUY HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE STARTING LINEUP ON A DAILY BASIS!!!..he has become a one dimensional hitter.. low ball stuff only. add to that his obvious lack of speed in the outfield makes him a liability rather than a positive add-on to this squad..
REASON: HE IS SHOOTING HIMSELF IN THE FOOT BY HOLDING HIS HANDS WAY TOO LOW.. SABOTAGING HIMSELF ON PITCHES UP IN THE ZONE!! ALSO.. HE IS WAGGING THE BAT AT THE PITCHER'S RELEASE POINT, WHICH GUARANTEES BECAUSE THE BAT IS IN MOTION HE WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT INITIATION POINT TO EVERY SWING.. GUARANTEEING INCONSISTENCY IN HIS TIMING, RESULTING IN A DIMINISHED SUCCESS RATE..
why can not someone help rescue this poor soul from himself?
