Bat Speed too Fast, Need Fix ASAP!...PLEASE HELP!

Posted by: Chris Langley (cmlbaseball@yahoo.com) on Sat Apr 10 15:00:14 2004

Hello, I am a first time poster, partially due to my desperate situation. I have referred to looking up suggestions on the internet to try and fix my hitting problems this season. I am desperatly searching for suggestions and tips that any one can offer.

The problems is this: My bat speed is too fast. Every time I hit, I am out in front of the pitch and hit off the end of the bat. I am seeing good pitches to hit and making contact, but most balls only go about 5 feet dribbling off to some portion of the grass in front of home plate. I am 2 for the last 23 at bats. Its been so bad that I even hit 9 consecutive dribblers back to the pitcher, something I cannot never imagine happening to any hitter.

This is extremely frustrating. I am usually about a .350 power hitter. This is hands down my worst season ever. I play college ball, and have never had a season go this bad as a hitter.

Hitting is my primary skill, I DH most of the time, but with the way i am hitting I have been benched. I am looking for suggestions on how to slow down my bat head and hit the ball solid. I would like to salvage what I have left of the season at the plate. PLEASE HELP! Anything you have at all will be helpful! Thank You!!
