Hello, I am a first time poster, partially due to my desperate situation. I have referred to looking up suggestions on the internet to try and fix my hitting problems this season. I am desperatly searching for suggestions and tips that any one can offer.

I am seeing good pitches to hit and making contact, but most balls only go about 5 feet dribbling off to some portion of the grass in front of home plate. I am 2 for the last 23 at bats. Its been so bad that I even hit 9 consecutive dribblers back to the pitcher, something I cannot never imagine happening to any hitter.

I would like to salvage what I have left of the season at the plate. PLEASE HELP! Anything you have at all will be helpful! Thank You!!

You could be starting your stride or opening your hips too early. Once your'e timing is down, then your "too much" bat speed will give you balls hit "too hard". I strongly recommend you don't slow down you're swing whatsoever. If all else fails, try using a heavier bat.

> Dougdinger: Thanks for the advice. Its just so frustrating to never have found that groove yet. We are 3/4 of the way through our season, and i have not had a solid hitting streak yet. If this is a slump, its massive. Its the standing joke on my team when i get up now, the team places bets if this is the time that I will actually hit one out of the infield. Its so hard trying to get out of this. I don't feel comfortable at the plate. I do BP and crush the ball, when it comes to live pitching im always out front. Are there any drills that someone can suggest to help with my timing issue? Thanks!!!!

I think the heavy bag drill would be a real big help. Good luck!
