George,
The answer to your time problem is this...Start before the pitch is released!
The loading action should not happen after the release of the pitch or else you are right they will be late.
Barrel accuracy and velocity is married to time and timing.
Starting the controllable momentum early so that the timing of the swing will be on time is the key.
Let me ask you a question. Do you think that it's possible to cover the entire strike zone with authority?
