Hi Jimmy

A 95-mph fastball takes 12 video frames (1/30 sec. each) for the ball to travel from the pitcher’s release point to the plate. From initiation to contact, a high level swing only requires 4 to 4.5 of those frames. Why would think the batter would not have time to bring his hands and body to a good loaded position in the first 7 or 8 frames -- nearly twice the time for an entire swing?
