Re: Re: bat weight charts

It looks like a good place to start but again it depends on the individual. An athlete may be able to handle a heavier bat if they are strong and get themselves in the best possible position when the ball presents itself.

Just a thought about adding weight to the top of the bat, similar to what tennis players do by adding weighted tape to their racquets. I was thinking something along the lines of the stick on wheel weights they use on alloy wheels, attached to the plastic plug on the top end of the bat. Of course I'm not sure if an extra ounce or two at the end of the bat would dramatically affect the balance to make it awkard to swing. Anyone ever try anything like this?

If this could work, why couldn't bat companies incorporate a threaded insert in the plastic plug, then you could buy the appropriate threaded weighted insert.
