Are there any good drills that can be used to help increase bat speed? My question is related to softball but does it really matter?

NFL linemen don't have 100 a mph batspeed because they don't hit and no one measures their bat speed. No one cares because they play football not baseball.DUH!
On the other hand, as anyone noticed any similarities between the most recent top home-run hiters? Sosa? McGwire? Bonds? After many, many years playing in the majors, suddently they bloon up into muscle men, look like NFL linemen and start hitting homeruns in numbers never seen before. Do you think that they changed their swing? No, they added muscles. I wonder why? Come on guys, use your powers of observation and some common sense.
Joe A.
