Re: Curveball

Are there any good ways to drill on curveball hitting. My son played a team with a nasty curveball pitcher, and he only could line out to 3rd and ground out. How is a good way to drill on hitting that ball further.

I have heard that you train to hit a curveball by pitching soft-toss from behind. I don't know if this is proper or not or even if it is effective. My son has just moved to 11-12 so up until now he hasn't seen many curveballs. Therefore we haven't worked so much on it as of yet. We'll try the drill and I will let you know if it has any positve effects.
