>>> I've posted on this site many times that I've experienced similar experiences with my 13 yr old son. After 3 yrs of rotational instruction his left shoulder was opening up too soon; the hands were going in circular motion, but the bat wasn't in the strike long enough to make consistent contact. He crushed inside pitches...foul. Outside pitches, changes and curves were death. <<<

Hi Jima

Your posts basically states that if the batter’s lead-shoulder starts to open during initiation and the hands follow a circular motion, the bat will not stay in the strike zone long enough to make consistent contact.

In this clip of Pete Rose - http://www.youthbaseballcoaching.com/mpg/Rose.mpeg - his lead-shoulder starts to open during the start of the swing – his hands are obviously taken in a circular motion. His stats would indicate he had no problem making consistent contact.

I have over 130 over-head clips of some of the best hitters. They all show the same lead-shoulder opening and circular hand-path we see in the Rose clip. -- Could it be that you may be blaming your son’s problems on the wrong causes?
