Coach comments on Son's technique

Posted by: Cameron McDougall (cmcdougall999@gmail.com) on Sun Nov 30 15:03:27 2008

My son is 12 and has been practicing with the pathfinder and trying to adopt the circular bat path technique in the video Final Arc. His coach is saying he is not extending his arms enough and his elbow is too close to his body, that the swing is too tight to his body. Also he wants him to roll his wrists. Is the coach not up to date or in the final torque movement (flick or snap)does the elbow separate from the body and extend out?

We are from Canada and baseball is not the main sport but it is the sport my son loves. I never played baseball so I'm a bit confused by each coach having a different say on the batting technique.
