late timing

My son is eleven and has a very nice swing. This year he has stepped up to the majors and has had a difficult time adjusting to the faster pitches. He seems to hit a lot of weak ground balls to the right side or swings late and misses altogether. Do you have some imagery or specific drills which will get him driving the ball up the middle and to the left side?
