Bat Size

I know there are many variables involved in this question, but, what size bat would you recommend for a 7 yr old boy (4'1", 50 lbs)? Right now he is using a 28 - 18 (-10). Would he be better off using a bat with more length and less weight (ex. 29 or 30 in - 16.5 oz)? Thank you.
