It is very simple: "Casting and blasting" referes to the "long" swing long because casting takes more time for the bat to get to the ball. long = the hips opening way to early, very important the hands come AROUND the baseball instead of INSIDE the baseball. If the hands stay inside the baseball and the hips explode after the hands lead the swing than you effectivly SHORTEN your swing. Hands always should lead and stay inside the BASEBALL. much easier said than done.
