Re: Re: Re: best mechanics
I have been researching the various hitting approaches over the last 3 months. I have read numerous books and seen numerous video tapes. I have visited this web site, as well as other sites including setpro, epstein, eteamz and several others. I have not spoken out until I had given a fair evaluation to all the approaches.
> > > I have concluded that this site makes the best case for the best hitting philosophy, which is rotational mechanics.I have nothing against the other sites. Maybe they even believe in the same things Jack does but simply can not articulate themselves in the way you all can. Count me in as a believer in top hand torque, bottom hand torque, circular hand path, heavy bag drill and all the rest. It is obvious to me that knob-to-ball and the other linear stuff at the other sites is not the way to go for my son. Again, I have nothing against the other sites, and their philosophy might be appropriate for hitters with a lot of speed who can beat out a ground ball. However my son is big and slow, and his best shot is with power, and it seems evident that rotational mechanics is the best approach for achieving power.Thank you for allowing me to air my views.

Apparently that offer caused some resentment with another poster, causing him to wonder who I was. I wish him no ill will. As a matter of fact, my suggestion to him is to put his nose to the grindstone, learning and practicing Jack's principles, and maybe he will get a scholarship too.

Maybe you two should donate some of the money you will earn/save to Jack to thank him for his research if thats the case. It's only a matter of months until Brett is a multi millionaire.
You two have no clue do you... hitting is not the only thing looked at by scouts. Brett's post proved he is a liar because to be a first round talent you have to have more than one tool if you knew anything about baseball. You said you just started hitting rotationally after your junior year, well I doubt you have mastered it yet therefore I doubt you will be a first round talent if that is your only plus tool. Justin Upton, soon to be this years #1 pick, lets take a look at his tools. Plus bat speed, hits for power and average, runs a 6.2 60yd dash (Deion Sanders in his prime), smooth fielder with plus actions, and throws an easy 90+ across the infield. Please tell me how you stack up against him overall. Even if you are the Brett that is ranked in the Top100 in the country, you still are not going in the first round according to the scouting reports I just read.
Daryl you may have received a scholarship offer and if you did congratulations, but by the sound of your post it doesnt seem like it. Daryl, unfortunatly for you I will be getting money to play ball in college and even though I believe in Jacks principles and I thank him for all the information he has provided and all the research he has done to help me improve, he did not take thousands of swings a week for me.
If you really did sign with UCLA on a scholarship, I would hope you would have more character than to immediately come on a website and brag and to tell someone you don't even know to hit the grindstone and maybe that person will get lucky and get a scholarship too. That is what scouts and college coaches call "bad makeup," keep it to yourself.
I have been reading this board for two years and I have never seen posts like those before.
