I am sure the same is true for most of the other board participants. Although some post has referred to the term, no one has given us a clear definition. What is its purpose, how it is applied, and most importantly, how it differs from other swing mechanics discussed on this site?

From your statement above, you seem to be able to say which hitters are exhibiting “bow arch” and which are not. Then hopefully you can define what forces “bow arch” applies to the bat and how they differ from forces applied by THT, CHP and BHT?

I hear top hand torque discussed all the time, probably because it is a theory that is in the mainstream. It is used by Bonds, Pujols, Ramirez and all of the power hitters. It is starting to be taught at Little League level, high school and college. I am not sure if it is taught in the pros or not. But this bow arch thing, I'm with Jack, I don't know what it is.I have seen only two people talk about it, Manny and Teacherman. Manny described it as a linear concept but he did not explain how it works. As far as I know, Teacherman believes in it but has never described it. I think that unless Teacherman or someone comes forward and describes what it means, we should simply dismiss this term as more linear propaganda.
