My assesment at the time was that he inside/out's the ball/V-shapes the swing and casts the bat late in the swing. I still maintain this analysis, but upon knowing this was your boy i wanted to take a further look. He most definitly sways his hips....in other words he cocks his hips incorrectly.

I'd offer my help, but we already know you disagree with me....so scrap that idea. Let's just say I wish him the absolute best of luck and I hope he lives his dreams!!!

He'll play for the Phillies organization next year!

The hips sway if they go forward after heel plant which is the beginning of rotation. Whatever you claim to see in this swing is simply part of his style and has nothing to do with his technique.

This boy is a good hitter, but probably strikes out way more than he needs to. He would do better if he let the ball come to him. He also has more power available than what he is getting.....but don't we all...except you probably. Supposedly he is a Jack Mankin student......I don't see it at all, but it doesn't mean I don't think he's a good kid. He is not rotational in my opinion.

Ridiculous assessment. He's not rotational? Please....The elbow is solidly slotted, there is no forward movement of the lower body after heel drop, the hands stay at the arm pit area throughout the swing and into contact, and the torso's rotation powers the swing (not the arms). Sounds rotational to me.

Any sway before foot plant is irrelevant. It's called stride, timing and rhythm. There is no connection between the back knee and hands going linear other than it's relationship to pitch location. Do you know this pitches location and speed? You say he doesn't let the ball get deep....you'll make this conclusion on seeing one clip? Where was the pitch? How was his timing? Did he have to adjust? And do you know he wasn't working on pulling the ball? Or hitting it to a certain location?
