Erik,

I've got to disagree with both you and Jack on this one. Every hitter has his/her own swing thoughts that lead to the result that they desire. What we see them do on film is a result of their own feel for what they personally emphasize in the swing.

If A-Rod thinks about "staying in tight with his hands" in order to create the swing that we see, than that is what works for him.

Everyone has a slightly different feel for their swing and they need to emphasize different areas of mechanics in different ways to have success.
