Bonds and Sheff

Posted by: thejuice32 () on Tue Jun 10 08:40:24 2003

Bonds and Sheffield both generate a rediculous amount of bat speed by actually starting their swing with the bat head pointing at the pitcher-they exagerate Jacks concept of pulling back the top hand by starting the swing with the bat head nearly where it is at the end of the swing, this obviously generates a ton of torque as the bat is pulled back towards the back shoulder and then rotates through the zone already with speed behind it. my question is: is it possible to obtain equal batspeed and power without using a waving motion like bonds and sheff where the swing starts with the bat pointing back at the pitcher.
