A-Rod vs. Pujols Lead Shoulder Rotation

Posted by: Yohan () on Fri Feb 3 00:13:47 2012

Hey Jack, I was looking at A-Rod's Home Run from Dodger Stadium from 2010 Season and revisit your video on "Lead Shoulder Rotation of 4 Great Hitters" and found something different. I can't see A-Rod's front foot in your video but in this video below can:

(A-Rod hits 94 MPH fastball for HR to LF)
(His hands started to come before front foot is planted)

From this video, as he makes toe-touch, his hands started to move forward rather than rearward: unlike Pujols whose hands go rearward.

(Pujols hits 94 MPH fastball for his 38th HR to CF)
(His hip and back-leg started to turn but his hand when back.)

(Pujols hits 92 MPH fastball to LC)
(His hip and back-leg started to turn but his hands did not move.)

(Pujols makes his first hit for 2011 as a HR to LC)

What do you see, Jack?
