Hi Ricky,

You've given us 2 points to run a math equation on. We'd need a
minimum of 3.

If you at all possibly can, I would take him out somewhere and have
him hit balls off of a T and see which bat consistently gives him
farther distance. If it's a tie or very close, go with the heavier
bat, assuming he will get stronger with time and practice.

Generally, you'll need to try at least 3 differently weighted bats at
the right, comfortable length for him.
