When I played in college I had a device with three fans that slipped over a regular bat. You would swing the bat and the fans provided wind resistance directly in opposition to the forces you would apply. After ten swings with this "fan" a swing with just the bat felt like the bat was spinning you around in a circle. I found myself having to use both legs like Jack describes. I could not use linear mechanics and swing the "fans" against air resistance very well. I became interested in Jack's mechanics because they describe the way I learned to swing using this device. (This is a little like swinging a broom.) Is this device still available? Anybody else ever used one?
