Thanks for your input , would be interested in Jacks comments.

Sounds worse than it is practicing linear , but using rotational at
the plate. Our coach does very little hitting practice, as he is
primarily a pitching coach, so in a season may be only 100 cuts "make
pretend" linear, although now his stats are improved he leaves him
alone, so probably was only necessary to this last year. My son
practices on his own daily at least 100 cuts during season using
rotational mechanics so I don't think it affects his swing, just makes
life easier with the coach, or maybe rather a new coach such as the
baseball camp he just attended.
