Re: Power

> I was wondering, how do I maximize my power. What things should I do? I am strong and have a stocky build but all I seem do is hit line drives (which aren't bad). But my coach really needs me to be more of a doubles, homerun guy do to my speed. I can hit it to the fence on occasion. Are there any tips on developing and havings more consistent power?

Just a few suggestions since you are already hitting line drives:

1. Go up an ounce in the bat weight (this will add mass when you connect without sacrificing too much batspeed.)

2. Bring your feet closer together a few inches (this will allow you to post up easier with regard to your launch angle)

3. Open your stance slightly (this will allow you to rotate easier on the middle in pitch) See B J Upton

4. Experiment with a slight leg lift (this will allow you to gather strength in unison with the inward turn) See (A-Rod, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz)
