For the same reason we see kids doing anything incorrectly, they weren't taught properly. But,in my mind that doesn't mean filling their heads with complexities that would boggle their minds. They have an ugly swing due to lack of bare bone fundamentals. You don't need to fill anyones head with scientific dialogue in order for them to succeed. I mean for crying out loud, it's difficult enough for an adult to have to keep all that "stuff" in their heads re. swing preparation, never mind a kid!

Everyone wants to be good but they don't want to work at it. I'm sorry but hitting is not a simple process. There is much to learn. Very complex. You must dive in, bury yourself, and fight your way out of the knowledge freezer to make the complex hitting stroke simple. This takes time, which is one of the great separators from those who can and those who can't. Those who can't aren't willing to put in the hours. Yes, everyone has a limit, but everyone can be the best they can be. They'll get there by practice and video, not by whining about how hard it is or how complex it is or how much time it takes. The goal is to take the complex issues to practice and work on them until they are "acquired". Then add the next issue, then the next. Tackle them, one by one, and pretty soon it comes out as a simple thing to do. Probably about 5000 swings later. Now, and only now, do you have a simple process to take to your next at bat. The good news is it becomes simple once you understand it and refine your technique but it won't get simple until you attack the complex issues.

And, by the way, I'm glad it takes time. That's how I can guarantee I'll be successful. Because I will do what it takes. Will YOU?
