Adjustment to High/Low Pitches

Posted by: Dennis W. () on Fri Sep 14 10:11:08 2007

With the understanding that with high pitches the shoulders rotate a bit more level (to the ground), with middle to low the shoulders rotate with the lead shoulder working upward, I found the best way to adjust to different pitch heights is to load the same way for every pitch. I load like I am getting a low pitch, if it ends up being a high pitch or middle pitch I adjust accordingly. Because the body uses the muscles in the back to straighten the torso, a bigger muscle group.
If you loaded like you were getting a high ball and had to adjust to a low pitch you would be using the abdominals which is a smaller muscle group as well as a weaker and under developed group.

It works for me.
