Hi Jack,
I would never advocate the "three step-approach" that is taught by some (stride, open hips fully while keeping shoulders square, then rotating shoulders). However, when you watch the video of Bonds and see his lead knee start to rotate while the bathead roates backwards, couldn't you characterize that mechanic as "batter-induced separation"?
