THT: Really pull it?

Posted by: skip (piks5@sbcglobal.net) on Mon Sep 10 10:26:23 2007

Guys,
For those of you who have mastered this hitting method, or your sons have mastered it:

A question: To ensure that my son is truly tugging rearward to initiate, I've had him use a "claw" grip with the top hand. With that grip, there's no way he can lapse.

From what I've seen, MLB (and the many HS hitters I've seen) that swing powerfully don't use a claw grip. Is that grip temporary, or should it become a permanent part of my son's hitting mechanic?

Why don't you see the claw hand grip in MLB?

Jack, if you have time, of course I'd value your opinion.
