Is there any difference from the hitter's point of view in "waiting" for a change-up vs. a curve. Assuming the hitter recognizes what is coming and is able to delay his rotation, I would guess it is just a matter of getting the bathead on the ball at the proper time.

Hitting the change you have to sit back and look for something that the pitcher tips off, that might give you the idea he is throwing the pitch-- if you don't pick that up, go up there thinking same mechanics and drive that thing!-- Right center!
