Is there any information or references for girls on what the top female fastpitch player's bat speeds are? If you swing 20 mph - - a pepper swing -- the ball is not likely to go as far than if Bonds hit it with batspeed at 90 mph -- with or without this leverage you talk about, would be my guess. Bat speed seems to be at least relevant.

In order for a girl to hit the ball out of the park (200 foot fences) and the pitcher throwing mid 60s from 43 feet away - - reaction time and all that stuff, no wind, etc. - - how much bat speed in a range is required to do it? Surely, 20 mph ain't the answer, leverage or not?

If we are to use this swing mate bat speed machine to measure - - what are we measuring and why and what are we shooting for? It would be nice to know do not you think?
