My nonscientific fantasy hypothesis for what it's worth is that for

I have observed that the farther the pitch is outside the less "L" (i.e., more XT) there is. Also, the LOWER the pitch is, less "L" (i.e., more XT) there is. And, the higher the pitch is, the GREATER the "L" and less XT there is. Now, the big question which may never be answered: how does less/more extension translate into batspeed?
