Suppose you had 10 hours a week to train to prepare for next season which official 1st practice begins jan.20th.looking for ideas,something new for h.s. age.training geared for just hitting not throwing.

Once I was comfortable that the mechanics were solid I would do overload/underload training to develop the fastest bats I could. I would work on the SETPRO type training schedule.

>>Thanks teacherman for the thoughts,I have 4 of my better ball players that I want to push hard between now and Jan 20th.My plan at this point is to spend 4hours on lifting,this will include heavy lifting in the squats,bench,shoulders,lats,back forearms,and stomach.I want to work 1 hour on stretching,bounding,jump roping.2 hours on over/under training,a modified fence drill for rotational hitting and tee work that well be done on the field.2 hours a week well be done on a machine for lots of swings working on learning how to hit a curveball and how to catch up to the hard stuff,and 1 hour reviewing video of themselves and major leaguers.My estimatestell me we should be able to achieve 1ooo swings a week and time for them to try new things to see what works and what does'nt.They well do other conditioning with the team.
