Ryan,

I see why you are reloading. Striding before the pitch is thrown is more than likely directly related to your problem. The knees, hips, legs can't function correctly if this early stride involves your weight shifting forward.

If there is no freedom in the joints (knee,hips), hitters will attempt to get the weight/hands back (reload) to create the freedom necessary for the swing.

If you are truly not using the stride in a manner that doesn't allow the pre swing/swing to flow together. Don't take the stride and take a look at how Nomar can maintain a weight shift without the stride (freedom in the knees/hips). The big problem with no weight shift is trying to firm up the front leg.
