some players in softball walk up on the ball,does this foward shift hinder bat speed,or like baseball is it better to rotate

The hitter "walks up" so that they can get a better jump toward first when contact is made, the swing is basically arms only. Rotational hitting requires a stationary axis, not possible while walking up to slap. BUT TO HIT THE BALL FARTHER YOU WOULD PROBABLY JUST WANT TO BE STATIONARY THEN.HOWEVER SOME GUYS CAN SLAP THE ---- OUT OF THE BALL
