Jack I had qualms about using the insider bat at first. Then I had my girls overexaggerate the turning in of the shoulder and bringing the bat into the arm pitt before initiative the swing.

I think using the insider bat with just a regular swing will result in a linear swing much like the old drill of getting up to a fence, facing the fence from about a foot away and pulling the knob of the bat through the strike zone and then swinging the bat.

The insider bat does force you to bring your hands in near your body. So too hitting 250 balls off a T at one time will have the same result.
