Bonds appears to be able to cover the entire zone with very little adjustment in mechanics.Give him the same pitch more than once and he will punish you.

This is why I think theoretically you want to master bellying up to the plate and learning to turn as much as possible on the ball.Young kids aren't big and refined enough so mechanics will be very variable for different locations.When they get big and strong,however they can cover the plate well with bht mechanics that are as quick to the ball as possible.This may require learning to pull the lead arm in to get the very inside pitch,something that is also good to learn young.2 strike adjustments are also important.

Regardless you need a plan and a good pitch to hit.
