The swing is powered by rotation, it is momentum trasfer that creates batspeed. You have "seen" the barrel not arcing prior to shoulder rotation and you have "seen" through connection the the barrel rotates at the same rate of shoulder rotation. You can't deny video.

Who cares what the hands do (or is it the forearms)? Really they do their part in the swing. They help direct the barrel and release the bat head as part of the unhinging. <<<

You state “the barrel rotates at the same rate of shoulder rotation. You can't deny video.” – Shawn, your own video of Bonds proves your statement false. Bonds’ bat starts behind his head and rotates through over 200 degrees around to contact while his shoulders rotate around 90 degrees. His rate of shoulder rotation is less than half the rotational rate of his bat.

So we finally got to the bottom line. It is not just THT you disagree with, you do not think the hands applying opposing forces at the handle (torque) can generate bat speed anywhere in the swing. I am sure you would agree that trying to convince you that torque is a major factor in generating bat speed would be a waste of my time. Therefore, the following clip of me demonstrating how torque is applied in the swing is directed to readers that may find it of value.
