Thanks steve >I am glad both you and Ronnie get the point I was trying to make.THat I was not trying to booste up my own ego and make up a lie about my sons bat speed on the machine . I think that is one of the most annoying traits a baseball father can have . We know that its actually ball exit speed on a pitched ball that is a much more reliable test of power .Or simply watch some one hit and if there are driving the ball they have power.THe real reason I am writing this post is . I am in total agreement what you and this web site say is True. ITS early bat speed thats important. Fast bat speed right up until bat and ball contact is made are what counts.Knowing what I know now from this web site. It was me who reduced my sons power, by teaching him to pull the knob to the ball, and extend the bat into contact. I know the knob to the ball approaach is flawed for a number of resons. It cause Late bat head speed, useless bat speed. The balls aready in flight as the bat speed keeps increasing with the knob to the ball approach. And extending the lead arm just before contact disconnects the lead arm and bat from the rotating body.IT reduces power making the batter use arm power instead of the power from his big muscle and his rotating body.So my advive to all dont use the knob to the ball approach unfortunally I taught it. its chp rotation and connection where its at
