Re: hitting grounders

Hi my name is Kevin Green and I am a 13 year old male. I'm a little kid about 4 foot 10 and 75 pounds. It seems that whenever I hit the ball it is a weak ground ball in the infield. Do you have any suggestions that could help me start hitting hard line drives out of the infield? I will really appreciate any one's help.

Kevin,
What's wrong with a grounder? Make the defense make a play to get you out! It's harder to pick up a grounder and make an accurate throw to a base than it is to catch a fly ball. Read Mr. Mankin's rotational mehanics for batspeed. Get a light bat and go to the batting cage and practice, practice, practice. Your ground balls will pick up volocity. I'll bet that a few of them will be driven into the gap.
Good luck and have a great season!
