Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Major Dan
Here are a just a few exapmles of Major Dan's comments:

As a paying customer, can I ask you to stop alway s being the ringleader of all the nonsense. I'm sure that new potential customers of Jack have a good chuckle at some of your comments, but then they don't take the site seriously and move on to another site.

Maybe you don't want to learn but there are many of us who do want to learn.

People like that do it just for attention and if they are ignored they go away.Actually some of the things Major Dan has said makes sense, it's just that his good posts are less credible due to his behavior. It seems like this same thing (and same person) happened at hitting.com so Dave simply started limiting access to his customers.

> I'll go on record as backing these individuals as well (Frank, Sam, Joe, Phil).Actually this reminds me of high school. When the class clown would act up and people would laugh, the teacher would remind the clown that people were laughing AT him, not WITH him. Perhaps Major Dan should be reminded of this as well.
I notice that there are no email addresses attached to these posts.
Makes me wonder how many different people made those posts.
Sal's seemed legit.
For those posters who are genuine:
there is a significant history here at Batspeed of trash posts. Charlie Lau Jr, who is a known hitting instructor has posted here. THere was some debate as to whether it was really him. It appears it was as the email address was his and he responded to emails, as I have posted in detail in the past. While he was arrogant and somewhat uninformative in his public posts, he was rude and obnoxious in his emails to me.
He has since requested that no posts be made in his name here because he claimed someone else was posting using his name.
Now either that is true and there is someone who has posted and passed themselves off as Charlie Lau Jr or he is playing double agent - posting, then claiming others are using his name. I have no way to tell.
As CLauJr disappeared, JoeA appeared. He attacked Jack's ideas, eventually got banned, then came back reformed, etc. He often claimed that others 'imposturated' him, posting using his name. Again, nobody knows if that is true or if he was playing double agent.
Of course he no longer posts here, but Sam Procito and Frank Jessup (correct me if I am wrong on either person) claim to know JoeA, Joe A is a mentor who is a hitting guru and etc.
I have found posts here in the last few weeks posted by someone and using Major Dan as their posting name.
IMO there is one or more individuals who undermine the intent of this site by stirring up trouble, making contentious posts, etc.
I would not be surprised if several posts on this thread are by this individual.
Is that person Charlie Lau Jr? Is JoeA the same person? or is JoeA the perpetrator? or is someone else the man of a thousand voices?
Beware when you see a thread like this. Who are these people who are posting? Nobody 'owns' an internet name here. I could post as any of you and say offensive things, then post a critical rebuttal for all to agree with, and post several agreeing posts as well.
Anybody could do that. That's not the purpose of this board.
Sadly, the low level of discourse here and the games played by one or two individuals takes away from everyone else. And Jack is a well-intentioned guy with an open mind who deserves better.
If this board required 'joining' and using a password AND the board enforced one user per email address, much of this might go away.
Meanwhile the discriminating reader should pay attention to the cast of characters. The real fun is trying to figure out who is who, who is really posting under what pseudonyms. Grand prize goes to whoever finds the real JoeA, rips off his mask and uncovers the true identity of...
Well that's the grand prize. You figure it out.
