Re: Hitting Knowledge- Experts, Schmkpertss

I want to point out something about "experts." The focus on developing kids to get scholarships or into the pros has made what once was a game into a business. So people are very willing to spend money to give their kids an edge on the field.

What most try to do is to find something "new" that people will pay for. Thus you get "crush the bug" "elbow high" "swing down on the ball" and many
other made up science. The point is not to teach kids to hit. It's to separate their parents from their money.

Is there a point to this post? What is it?
Telling us that there is a little secret is not the same as telling us a secret.
I thought this site was about swing mechanics - only a component of hitting. I haven't seen much hitting info discussed here and haven't seen much "cashing in" attempts.
So - Is there a point to this post? What is it?
