Good post Jerry! I agree, the real measure is results on the field. You can see the ball exit speed is different for the better hitters. The ability to hit the sweet spot is not learned on a tee. Bat speed for my son was 85 at age 15, now 92 at age 16 measuring ball exit speed off a tee. I personally put no real value on bat speed unless it is hitting pitched ball.
