The History of Hitting Part 2

Posted by: Patrick (pmgeoeiiee@yahoo.com) on Wed Feb 2 14:25:49 2011

Emulation has always been and probably always will be the game's greatest teacher. From jackson to ruth, from ruth to...well everyone else that wanted to hit for power it's still the best way to learn how to hit. What seems to be sort of lost these days, (although guys like albert pujiols seem to have the power/avg stroke down pat) you dont see as many power/avg combinations in the way that you used too. Guys learn it at different times. Some come in not really hitting for a lot of power and then later develop it, but they could always hit for avg. Some guys come in and could always hit for power and then later they start making those adjustments allowing them to hit for a higher avg. Every single year since i really started watching baseball there is this debate about who will win the next triple crown. And as of yet no one has. And yet history had shown us that someone always does. Eventually...
