Just as you can train mechanical skills, you can also train mental skills. Some good resources are http://qualityatbats.com/ and the books "Heads-Up Baseball: Playing the Game One Pitch at a Time" and "The Mental Game of Baseball".

Practice is where you learn things but games should be on auto-pilot where they aren't thinking at all. Also maybe film their at bats so they see what you are talking about.
